Brugal Rum: The most joyful way of being from the Dominican Republic
Brugal is a Word that holds a long family tradition. Founded by the Spanish Catalan immigrant Don Andrés Brugal Montaner, in 1888, has since produced over a century of high quality prestigious rums. Generation after generation, Brugal has expanded their capacities in distillation, aging and production, but always maintaining their great traditions and quality. That has made them leaders in the Dominican Republic and allowed them to conquer the most demanding markets in Europe and the United States.
The only 100% Dominican Rum
Brugals distilleries located in San Pedro de Macoris, produces from sugar cane molasses, pure alcohol of great quality. That is the raw material needed by the maestros roneros (Rum Masters) to obtain our well known aged products and blends. All of Brugals rums are produced with alcohol obtained from our own distilleries, this guarantees that we are the only 100% Dominican Rum.
Maturation and Aging
When the purity of the alcohol distilled in San Pedro de Macoris and the water from the springs in Puerto Plata are combined, is when the miracle of Brugal Rum starts. White American oak barrels and the unique weather of the “Bride of the Atlantic ocean” are the ones in charge of the Aging and Maturing process that creates Brugal Rums unique and very Dominican flavor.
The Aging process varies after the first year, depending on the type of rum we are trying to obtain. After the aging, alcohol is taken to the processing chambers where it will rest, toning and developing its smooth aroma. When this evolution concludes, is where the handcraft of our rum masters starts, with their traditional formulas, an inheritance of there family’s legacy, has allowed Brugal & Co. being recognized as world class on its field.

Sales keep constantly increasing in others such as the North America and European market, where its exceptional quality has turned it into one of the best tasting secrets of the Caribbean.
