Which airports should I use to arrange my flight itinerary if arriving from USA?
If you are attending to all activities of the Festival from February 17th until February 22nd, arrival airport on February 17th must be La Romana International Airport (LRM) or as a second choice Las Americas Airport (SDQ) and departure airport on February 23rd should be Cibao International Airport (STI) in Santiago. They all have a couple of airlines available depending on your departure city.
If you are only attending the Santiago activities arrival airport on February 19th must be Cibao International Airport (STI) in Santiago.

They all have a couple of airlines available. You can also depart from Santiago (STI) if you choose a flight connecting through Miami or NY (USA).
If you are only attending the Santiago activities arrival airport on February 19th must be Gregorio Luperón International Airport in Puerto Plata (located one hour driving from Santiago) or Las Americas Airport (SDQ) in Santo Domingo (3 hours driving). You can also arrive in Santiago (STI) if you choose a flight connecting through Miami or NY (USA).
How far is La Romana from Santiago?
La Romana is in the east coast of the Dominican Republic, about 160 miles from Santiago, approximately 4 hours driving.
Can I attend only to the Santiago activities?
Yes you can. Your arrival date should be February 19th to the Cibao International Airport in Santiago or if you are coming from Europe you might want to try arriving in Puerto Plata (POP) or Santo Domingo (SDQ).
If I choose to attend the Santiago events only, is there a reduced price from the US$1,200?
The US$1,200.00 is the registration fee for the Santiago activities only; it includes all expenses such as transportation for all events, seminars, lunches, dinner parties, all tours, promotional items, cigars, etc. You must make a separate payment for your lodging at the Hodelpa Hotels which includes only breakfast.
The activities offered in La Romana are mostly sponsored by Procigar, except for the accommodation at the Casa de Campo Resort. This Resort is all inclusive; once you make your hotel reservation all the meals are included.
I would like to stay in a different hotel and participate in the Casa de Campo activities?
It is only possible to participate in the Casa de Campo activities if you book your stay at the Casa de Campo Resort through their sales agent (email@example.com).
My wife would like to come, but she is not interested in visiting the factories, she would only like to assist to the dinner parties in Santiago, do you think it is possible?
Yes, anyone can attend only the dinner parties or also the festival for just one or two days. You will need to make the reservation online at the registration area, submit the registration form and then select the option “Only attending dinner” on the day that you are interested. Bellow you will find the dinner fees per night:

You can also register for just one day or two in Santiago in which case you will need to choose this option at the registration area.

I will be selecting the complete itinerary from February 17th until February 22nd. How many hotels do I have to book?
Two hotels must be reserved. You will have to make a reservation at the Casa de Campo Resort in La Romana from February 17th until February 19th, and free ground transportation is provided from La Romana to Santiago where you will need to make a reservation at one of the Hodelpa Hotels for the activities in Santiago from February 19th until the 23rd.
Which is the dress code for each dinner party?
Welcome Dinner Party: February 20th – Cocktail attire
White Dinner Party- February 21st - White attire (chacabanas or white shirt is suggested for men)
Gala Dinner Party- February 22nd - Formal attire (Suit and tie for men).
What is the currency and exchange rate for Dominican Republic?
The Dominican Pesos is the official currency in the Dominican Republic, but in most places you can also pay in US$ dollars. The exchange rate in July 2018 is 49.50.
How much extra money do I need?
Money is only needed for the hotel charges. The Festival includes all transportations and meals except for dinner on Tuesday. If you are willing to donate at the Dinners in Santiago cash, check or credit card is recommended.
Do I need any immunizations? Any insect bits that I should know of?
No, you don’t. You will only find mosquitoes; it would be a good idea to bring insect repellent.
What travel documents do I need?
You just need your passport.
Is it safe to drink water?
It is not recommendable to drink water from the faucet. Please buy your bottle of water. During the festival water and drinks will be available.
Is there hospital nearby? Pharmacy?
Procigar will be having a team of doctors and nurses for any emergencies. If you need anything from the pharmacy the Procigar team leaders will be glad to help you.
Should I bring sun block?
Yes, sun block is recommended specially for the tobacco field’s tours and beach days.
